About Dr. Sebbern
Leading With Purpose. Building What Lasts.
Dr. Lovetta A. Sebbern is a leadership educator, author, and trainer whose work is grounded in one conviction: leadership under pressure is not a personality trait. It is a developed capacity.
A Leader Shaped by Real Experience
Dr. Lovetta A. Sebbern has spent her career at the intersection of leadership, education, and public service. Her work is not built on theory alone — it is grounded in the lived experiences of leaders who have navigated high-stakes environments, carried significant responsibility, and continued leading with integrity when the conditions were far from ideal.
Her doctoral research emerged from a qualitative study of women leaders within the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) — one of the most demanding leadership environments in public service. Through that work, she identified the patterns, capacities, and internal qualities that allowed leaders to remain effective under sustained pressure, and she built a methodology around those findings.
That research foundation gives the Leadership Pathway Method™ something most leadership frameworks lack: it was not designed in a classroom or a boardroom. It was drawn from leaders who operated under real institutional pressure, navigated bias and adversity, and kept leading with purpose anyway. The principles that emerged from corrections translate directly to healthcare, education, law enforcement, nonprofit leadership, and any environment where the stakes are high and the pressure is sustained.
That work — the Leadership Pathway Method™ and the D.A.R.E.R.S.™ capacities it develops — now forms the foundation of everything Relentless Connection offers: books, training programs, and resources designed to develop leaders who hold under pressure.

The Research Behind the Work
Built From Real Leadership, Not Abstract Theory
The Leadership Pathway Method™ did not begin in a classroom. It emerged from the stories of leaders who navigated some of the most demanding environments in public service — leaders who faced bias, pressure, uncertainty, and high-stakes responsibility, and kept leading anyway. From those stories, six internal capacities emerged. Dr. Sebbern named them D.A.R.E.R.S.™ — the acronym that captures what effective leadership under pressure actually requires.
“Leadership is not perfected in a single moment. It is built gradually through the choices leaders make each day.”
— Dr. Lovetta A. Sebbern, Leading Under Pressure
Relentless Connection
Why This Work Matters
Relentless Connection was founded on the belief that leadership development should be grounded in real experience, accessible to leaders at every level, and built around the internal capacities that actually sustain performance under pressure. The name reflects the commitment at the heart of the work: staying connected — to purpose, to people, and to the standards that make leadership meaningful — even when pressure makes it difficult.
“Leadership That Holds Under Pressure.”
